Just kicking back listening to the thunder and watching the rain literally pour down. Growing up in New England I never thought much about rain or no rain, but here in Southern California it’s the topic for many people

Listening to the thunder and rain as this small lake in our back yard grew to a river.

This gets me thinking about this weeks small change; “taking things for granted.”

Many times we can let things go unappreciated until it is too late and we no longer have it. Think for a moment about the people in your life, it may be easy to complain, gossip, and judge them, but what if you woke up to discover they are no longer on the planet? How about your job? How often do you curse the clients, the workload, and your co-workers? That’s easy to do, but when you get laid off and find it difficult to get work, all of a sudden the old job didn’t seem so bad.

So before letting some type of tragedy strike, show your appreciation for what you do have. If you truly dislike something, set your sights on changing it for what you do want. And while your doing that, remember to honor what’s already right in front of you.

Small Change for this week; appreciate what you have.

Remember, as you better yourself, you better the world
